New colour combos – day 6 – Mossy Meadow

August 16, 2018

Day 6 of our new and returning colour focus, where I’m sharing projects that showcase one of these additions to the Stampin’ Up! colour families and suggesting a possible colour combination.

Today we’re looking at Mossy Meadow. This is another returning colour and has been added to the Neutrals family which is a great idea, suggesting that you can use it as an alternative for Black/grey … or you can still use it as a green. I’ve used it at full strength as an alternative for Black in my greeting and stamped off once for a slightly paler shade for the leaves.

I’ve combined it with a brand new neutral, Merry Merlot and another returning colour, Flirty Flamingo for just a little colour lift. And shhh … there’s a sneak peek too, of lush new ribbon coming on 5 September – it’s reversible!

The card base is an A6 landscape of Merry Merlot, matted with Flirty Flamingo and Mossy Meadow. A card front layer of Whisper White was stamped with a sentiment from the Healing Hugs set using Mossy Meadow ink. Leaves from the set were stamped direct three times using Mossy Meadow ink but stamping off first each time. A sneak peek of Merry Merlot and Copper Reversible Ribbon was wrapped and secured around the layer with the Merry Merlot colour showing, then more ribbon was tied on with the Copper side showing. The layer was adhered direct to the card front. After inking up the large flower from the set with Flirty Flamingo ink, Merry Merlot was sponged onto the stamp with a Dauber before stamping the whole flower onto Whisper White card. The flower was fussy cut out then popped up on dimensionals on the card front.

On the Whisper White insert, another sentiment from the set was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink at full strength and flowers were added in the corners with the same ink, stamping off first each time.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sara xx
