Day 14 of our new and returning colour focus, where I’m sharing projects that showcase one of these additions to the Stampin’ Up! colour families and suggesting a possible colour combination.
Today’s we have another returning colour, Coastal Cabana. This is a previous In Color which is returning to the main colour collection as part of the Brights family.
I’ve combined it today with two new colours, Highland Heather and Shaded Spruce.
The card base is an A6 portrait of Coastal Cabana, matted with Highland Heather. A card front layer of Whisper White card was masked at each side and then mountains from the Waterfront set were stamped twice with Highland Heather, stamping each off once before stamping on the card front. A thin watercolour strip was added below the mountains with Shaded Spruce ink. Coastal Cabana ink was stamped as a large watercolour wash, stamping off first, below the Spruce line. More Shaded Spruce ink was used to stamp the fir trees onto the right side, stamping twice, once at full strength and once without reinking, offsetting a little and masking to ensure that tree trunks did not extend into the water. Coastal Cabana ink was used to stamp a sentiment from the set at full strength. Layering Squares were used to die cut a skinny frame of Coastal Cabana card which was adhered around the sentiment before the layer was adhered direct to the card front.
On the Whisper White insert,” land” was stamped on the lower left side with Shaded Spruce ink and palm trees stamped above it. A little “water” was added with Coastal Cabana ink, stamping off first. Highland Heather ink was used to stamp a little beach hut onto the land.
Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy the long bank holiday weekend.
