I usually hate risking getting messy when I’m crafting but recently I’ve been busy painting my new clinic space and the experience actually freed me up to experiment more in my crafting too 🙂
One of the sets of swaps I took to convention was this watercolored inked card.
To make the background pieces for these cards I wet some watercolour paper through, using an Aqua Painter, dropped spots of Coastal Cabana and Tranquil Tide ink refills onto the paper and then add spatters of Bright Copper Shimmer Paint.
The Coastal Cabana ink travels quickly but the Tranquil Tide not so much. I could have moved the darker colour around with my Aqua Painter but I liked the effect and decided to leave it as it was.
The colour combo is Tranquil Tide, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White with a couple of metallics thrown in for good measure.
The card base is a small square of Coastal Cabana. A watercolored background piece was prepared as above, allowed to dry thoroughly and then die cut out with a Stitched Shapes framelit. Using Versamark ink, sentiments from Merry Christmas To All were stamped onto the watercolored piece and heat embossed with White EP. This was then adhered direct onto a Layering Square die cut from Gold Foil and the combined layers were popped up on the card front with dimensionals. A small snowflake was die cut from Whisper White card using the Snowfall thinlits, adhered to the upper right corner of the layers and finished with a Basic Rhinestone.
The Whisper White insert was stamped with a sentiment from Merry Christmas To All using Coastal Cabana ink.
