Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator

Botanical Butterflies – SAB sneak peek

December 31, 2018

You know how some companies fob you off with sub-standard products at sale time?

It’s most certainly not the case with Stampin’ Up!

This pack of Botanical Butterfly DSP is one that I’d definitely pay full price for … and I got it for free! One of the perks of being a demo is that I get to pre-order new catty items and pre-earn SAB freebies 😆

Botanical Butterfly DSP (SAB freebie) note card.

The pack contains 12 sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper, 2 each of 6 double-sided designs, coloured images on one side and black and white on the other. They co-ordinate with the upcoming Butterfly Duet punch (meaning that some of the butterflies can be punched out of the paper). The designs that I used are matching, meaning that I could match them up to get the same design, lining up colour with black and white, resulting in 2 cards at the same time.

In each case the card base is an A6 portrait of Basic Black. Two card front layers were prepared, one of coloured pattern Botanical Butterfly DSP and one of black and white pattern Botanical Butterfly DSP. Both pieces were cut from the same corner of the pattern and both cut to 4″ x 5-11/16″. Holding them both together, the same way up, 1″ was cut from each side of the layers and then they were mixed and matched and adhered direct to the card fronts, lining up the patterns. Using Memento Black ink, a sentiment from the Butterfly Gala set was stamped onto a strip of Whisper White card, flagged at one end and popped up on the card front with dimensionals. This was repeated for the second card. Memento Black ink was used again to stamp two small outline butterflies and bodies and then Grapefruit Grove ink was used to stamp the fill-in butterfly over the top of each. The Butterfly Duet punch was used to punch out the small butterflies and then they were shaped and adhered direct to the end of each sentiment strip.

Insert using Butterfly Gala stamps and Botanical Butterflies DSP, from Stampin' Up!

Each insert was stamped with a small outline butterfly, body and antenna, all from the Butterfly Gala set, using Memento Black ink and then overstamped with the fill-in butterfly from the same set using Grapefruit Grove ink. A strip of another pattern of the Botanical Butterfly DSP was added to the base of each insert.

By ordering the Butterfly Gala stamp set and matching punch as a bundle and two inks, you would qualify for the Botanical Butterfly DSP for free!

  • Butterfly Gala bundle £33.25
  • Grapefruit Grove (or other coloured) ink pad £7
  • Memento Black ink pad £5.50

Total Â£45.75
