A big thank you to my crafting friend Elle for inspiring this card 😁
The real spotlight technique involves colouring a small area on a black and white image. Here the same effect is achieved much more simply, without the need for colouring in.
The colour combination is the same as used a few days ago, on this card here and uses Lemon Lime Twist, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue.
The card is an A6 portrait of Highland Heather. A card front layer of (the large black and white butterfly pattern) Botanical Butterfly DSP was trimmed into a wide panel and a narrow panel. The black and white patter was adhered direct to the right side of the card front and the Lemon Lime Twist pattern to the left. A skinny strip of Highland Heather card was adhered along the join. Using the Butterfly Duet punch a Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist butterfly was punched from another of the patterns of Botanical Butterfly DSP, the wings shaped and the body adhered over the top of one of the black and white butterflies. Using Balmy Blue ink, a sentiment from the Butterfly Gala set was stamped onto a small panel of Whisper White card. Balmy Blue Organdy Ribbon was wrapped around one end of the sentiment panel and a bow of the same ribbon tied on before popping the sentiment up on the card front.
On the Whisper White insert, a large butterfly from the Butterfly Gala set was stamped in the lower left corner with Balmy Blue ink and the matching small butterfly was stamped twice in the upper right corner.
Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
