Today’s project is an advanced one, combining techniques to create a bright birthday card. It incorporates dry embossing, heat embossing, colouring with a Blender Pen and assembling into an easel card.
The Sale-a-bration Foils (free product with purchase) are stunning when flat but really catch the eye when embossed using an embossing folder!
The colours used are Lemon Lime Twist, Lovely Lipstick and Flirty Flamingo.
The card base is and A6 top folding portrait of Lemon Lime Twist with a horizontal fold line approximately half way down the card to create the easel affect. A card front layer of Lovely Lipstick Foil was run through the Big Shot with the Dot to Dot embossing folder and two strands of Flirty Flamingo Ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack were wrapped around the layer and secured on the back before adding the layer to a full card front layer of Lemon Lime Twist card. This was adhered only to the bottom half of the card front so that it stands up when the card front is folded. A Layering Oval was die cut from Whisper White card and the candles from the Piece of Cake stamp set were stamped with Black Stazon and coloured with a Blender Pen and Lovely Lipstick and Lemon Lime Twist ink. This was matted onto a scalloped oval die cut from Lemon Lime Twist card using the same set of framelits. Both layers were popped up on the card front with dimensionals. The spotted and striped cake from the set was stamped onto Whisper White card with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Lovely Lipstick EP. Flirty Flamingo card was the base for ink and embossing the cake stand in the same way. Both pieces were punched out with the Cake Builder punch. After colouring the cake with Blender pen and the same inks as for the candles, both the cake and stand were popped up within the oval with mini dimensionals. A bow of Lovely Lipstick Ribbon from the same Combo Pack was adhered to the card front to finish.
On the Whisper White insert, a sentiment from the Piece of Cake set was stamped with Lovely Lipstick. A stopper bar for the easel was created by stamping another sentiment onto a strip of Lemon Lime Twist card using Versamark ink and heat embossing with Lovely Lipstick EP. This was adhered direct to a wider strip of Lovely Lipstick Foil and popping it up on the insert with dimensionals. A small flower spray from the same set was stamped above and below the stopper bar using Lovely Lipstick ink.
Thanks for stopping by.
