Simply stamped Forever Lovely valentine card

January 31, 2019

Boohoo! I’ve been poorly since the weekend đŸ˜·, too poorly to craft (and I don’t want to pass germs through my cards) but I’m starting to feel a little better today.

It’s the last day of the month but I’ve just got time to play along with Stampin’ Up!’s social media campaign called #simplestamping. This month the challenge was to create a project with a Valentine’s Day theme using only stamps, ink, paper plus a punch.

I’ve been using the Forever Lovely stamp set for quite a few projects since it arrived on pre-order but this is the first time I’ve used it to make a valentine’s project – it’s just so versatile đŸ˜‰

A single colour of Lovely Lipstick was used for this card.

Only Lovely Lipstick and Whisper White were used for this card.

The card base is a ready cut and scored Whisper White Note Card. Using Lovely Lipstick ink, the valentine sentiment from Forever Lovely was stamped in the centre. The same sentiment was stamped onto a Post-it note, trimmed and then used to cover the sentiment. More Lovely Lipstick ink was used to stamp the hearts from the set multiple times diagonally over the sentiment. (Let the ink dry before trying to lift the Post-it note so that you don’t smudge any stamping you’ve already done).

On the insert, another sentiment from the Forever Lovely set was stamped in Lovely Lipstick. A 3/4″ circle was punched from the bottom right corner of the card front and then the trio of hearts stamped through the aperture with the same ink (take care that you don’t have a lot of excess ink on your stamp or you could spoil your work so far). The spray of hearts was stamped on the notecard envelope to match the card.

Thanks for stopping by.
