Tropical Chic die cut

May 20, 2019

Today’s Tropical Chic die cut thank you card is one of the cards that we made in our May Card class. I’m sharing it with you to give you an idea of how well finished our class cards are.

Tropical Chic die cut thank you card.

They are still simple enough though that a beginner can complete them (with a little help if they want it). The idea behind our monthly card classes is that they’re not too technical and you have chance to relax and socialise. Card bases and layers are pre-cut for you but you still have some stamping, punching or die cutting and assembly to do. I also provide tips along the way Experienced crafters are welcome to switch their designs around.

Colour Combo

Colour combo mixing Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green and Flirty Flamingo, all from Stampin' Up!

The colour combination mixes Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green and Flirty Flamingo, with just a hint of Mango Melody.

Instructions

Tropical Chic die cut thank you card.

Start with an A6 portrait of Shaded Spruce. Run a card front layer of Granny Apple Green through the Big Shot with the square window die from the Tropical thinlits set. Using Shaded Spruce ink stamp a sentiment from the Tropical Chic set below the square frame. Pop the card front layer up onto the card front using dimensionals.

Die cut two long feathery leaves from Shaded Spruce card and one wide palm leaf from Granny Apple Green. Adhere these direct to the card front at the lower left corner of the square frame. Ink the flower stamp from the set with Mango Melody ink. Before stamping, use a sponge dauber to add Flirty Flamingo ink around the edges of the petals. Huff (breathe) onto the stamp to refresh the ink and stamp onto a scrap of Whisper White card. Due cut out with the matching thinlit and adhere to the centre of the leaves.

Insert using Tropical Chic stamp set.

For the Whisper White insert, ink the flower stamp from the set with Mango Melody ink. Before stamping, use a sponge dauber to add Flirty Flamingo ink around the edges of the petals. Huff (breathe) onto the stamp to refresh the ink and stamp part way down the right hand edge of the insert. Using Shaded Spruce ink, stamp the falling petals design above and below the flower to complete the border.

Tropical Chic die cut birthday card.

Attendees at our classes always have the opportunity to use different sentiments so they can create projects they can use. This is the same card but with a birthday sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by.
