Today’s DSP share project 9 (please scroll down to see previous projects) shows both sides of our DSP.
To celebrate the launch of the new annual catalogue I’m offering a paper share. This is a chance to get a little of all the different papers that are new out. And to help you use it, I’m sharing a series of projects with patterned paper as a major element.
Father’s Day sentiments have been used for this card (ready for this weekend) but birthday or other sentiments could easily be substituted. This foldback design works for both masculine cards as here and also feminine cards, as I created previously here.
We’ll be featuring the Come Sail Away suite in our July card class – reserve your place now.
Colour Combo
This colour combo mixes Smoky Slate, Balmy Blue and Basic Black for a more masculine feel.
Instructions
Start with an A6 portrait card base of Smoky Slate. Mat direct with a layer of Basic Black card. Cut matching card front layers of Come Sail Away DSP and Whisper White card. Cut across the DSP layer and fold back the edges evenly. Using Memento Black ink, stamp sentiments from Well Said onto the Whisper White card layer. Adhere the folded back DSP over the top of the stamped layer.
Die cut two ropes and the large compass needle from Smoky Slate card with the Smooth Sailing dies. Adhere the ropes across the top and bottom of the DSP layer before adhering the layers direct to the card front. Die cut the thin compass needle from Silver Foil and adhere it to the larger Smoky Slate one. Using Memento Black ink stamp the compass onto Whisper White card and die cut out with the Layering Circles. Attach the needles to the compass with a brad (I used a retired mini brad but we do new ones available) and pop it up on the card front, over the split in the DSP, with dimensionals.
On the Whisper White insert, use Memento Black ink to stamp more sentiments from Well Said set and an anchor from the Sailing Home set. Adhere a strip of Come Sail Away DSP down the right hand side.
Thanks for stopping by.
