Peaceful Poppies birthday card

January 14, 2020

I’m continuing to use up some of my gorgeous Peaceful Poppies DSP on today’s birthday card. It’s such a lush paper that it only needs a sentiment and/or an embellishment or two.

I wasn’t sure about this pattern of DSP when I first saw it but it looks so much better when cut down from a 12″ x 12″ sheet (it’s just a little overpowering when larger). That hint of Crushed Curry peeking out makes the flowers seem to glow!

Colour Combo

This colour combo mixes Rich Razzleberry, Poppy Parade and Whisper White.

Instructions

Peaceful Poppies birthday card

Start with an A4 portrait card of Rich Razzleberry. Adhere a layer of Peaceful Poppies DSP direct to the card front. Using the Painted Labels set, die cut a the large circular label from Rich Razzleberry card. Tie a bow of Crinkled Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon to the top of the circle. Using Rich Razzleberry ink, stamp a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments set onto a scrap of Whisper White. Die cut it out with the smaller label from Painted Labels set, leaving a little extra negative space on the left. Adhere the stamped label direct to the Razzleberry one and then pop both up on the card front with dimensionals.

Using Memento Black ink, stamp both the large poppy heads from the Painted Poppies set onto scraps of Whisper White card. Stamp over them, with both the watermark and the larger splash images, using Rich Razzleberry ink. Die cut out with the matching framelits from the Painted Labels set and pop up on the card front, slightly overlapping the sentiment.

Insert using sentiment from Peaceful Moments and image from Painted Poppies.

On the Whisper White insert, stamp another sentiment from the Peaceful Moments set using Rich Razzleberry ink. Stamp the border of poppies from the Painted Poppies set in the lower right corner using the same ink.

We’ll be using the Peaceful Poppies suite in our January card classes if you’d like to give it a test drive. Tomorrow is the last day to book your seat!

Thanks for stopping by.
