Today I have a guest crafter’s Stone birthday card to share with you. This card was made by my hubby for his Mum. I love that he takes the time to craft with me and make something personal for his Mum in the process.
The design is all his own work, I simply steered him towards the techniques he could use to create his vision. I had previously used the same idea of stacked dies on this birthday card here.
The card uses the Stone embossing folder (a Sale-a-bration freebie) as a background to create interest and texture without pulling the focus from the sentiment.
There is no stamping involved in the card, it simply uses die-cutting and embossing.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Crushed Curry, Lovely Lipstick and Coastal Cabana.
Instructions
Start with a top folding A4 landscape card of Lovely Lipstick. Use the Well Written dies to die cut the birthday sentiment from a card front layer of Crushed Curry (retain the words for the insert). Run the die cut layer through the Stone embossing folder and then adhere direct to the card front. (Die cutting before embossing means that you won’t flatten the design as you die cut). Die cut the same sentiment three times from scraps of Coastal Cabana card. Adhere each of the words as a stack and then adhere them to the negative space on the card front.
On the Coastal Cabana insert, adhere the Crushed Curry words left over after die cutting the card front layer.
Thanks for stopping by.
