Playful Alphabet Father’s Day

June 13, 2020

This Playful Alphabet Father’s Day card is one of my larger cards, this one is an A5 size. It’s another commission for a customer. As their Dad is partially sighted, I was asked for very large print. The Playful Alphabet die set came to the rescue.

Playful Alphabet Father's Day

I’ve used the High Tide and Sailing Home sets together on this card below the sentiment.

This colour combo mixes Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand.

INSTRUCTIONS

Playful Alphabet Father's Day

Start with an A5 portrait card of Night of Navy. Mat with Sahara Sand and then Cherry Cobbler. On a Whisper White card front layer, die cut the sentiment out with the Playful Alphabet dies (keep the inner cut-outs). Using Cherry Cobbler ink stamp the solid lighthouse from High Tide. Stamp the lighthouse details over the top using Smoky Slate ink. Use Sahara Sand ink to stamp the large sand splotch, turning the stamp around to fill more of the area.

Using Night of Navy ink, stamp the large and small sailboats from Sailing Home. Colour the boats with a Blender Pen and Sahara Sand and Night of Navy inks. Mask the boats (using the Smooth Sailing dies) and the lighthouse and stamp waves over the top using Seaside Spray ink. Add seagulls with Basic Gray ink. Adhere the layer direct to the card front and complete with the cut-out letter pieces.

Playful Alphabet Father's Day inside

On the Whisper White insert, use Sahara Sand ink to stamp the small sand spot from High Tide, several times across the base. Add the wading seabirds with Soft Suede ink. Finish by adding sea grasses with Mossy Meadow ink.

Thanks for stopping by.
