Seaside View birthday card

This Seaside View birthday card is another one of my larger cards. It’s an A5 size card completed as a commission for a customer and I’m sure that it will have been sent and received by now.

Can you believe that I used a winter design DSP as the background for this card? That’s Snowflake Splendor DSP but I think it works beautifully as a sea themed colour on this card.

I had a lot of fun colouring the main image but if you don’t want all that work, then you could use it simply stamped as on the insert to this card here.

COLOUR COMBO

This colour combo mixes Coastal Cabana and Early Espresso with just a touch of Calypso Coral (in the rugs in the picture that tend to draw the eye).

INSTRUCTIONS

Start with an A5 portrait card of Coastal Cabana. Mat a card front layer of Early Espresso with the salt spray pattern of Snowflake Splendor DSP. Wrap both layers with the Coastal Cabana ribbon from the Playing With Patterns Combo Pack and adhere the layers direct to the card front.

On a Whisper White panel, stamp the large image from Seaside View using Memento Black ink. Colour with Stampin’ Blends (let me know in the comments if you want to know the specific colours used). Adhere the panel direct to the upper part of the card front. Using Stitched Rectangle dies, die cut a frame from one of the wood patterns from the In Good Taste DSP. Add Antiqued Corners before popping up over the coloured scene using mini dimensionals.

Using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from Many Mates onto a scrap of Whisper White card. Colour the letters with a mix of dark and light Pool Party Blends to create an ombre effect. Die cut out with one of the Stitched Rectangles dies. Adhere direct to a larger Stitched Rectangle die cut from Early Espresso card and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Finish by attaching a bow of the Coastal Cabana ribbon using a Mini Glue Dot.
