My tutorial today is for a snowflake sky Christmas card. This time the Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes have been added to an already snow filled sky to add a little glitz.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the snowflake sky Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
Unfortunately it looks as though the Trimming the Town DSP that I used to create this card has sold out, though the stamp set and die bundle are still available as I write. We are reaching that time where August-December catalogue items will sell out so if there’s anything you still want please get it fast!
One possible alternative is to use the dotted Misty Moonlight pattern from the Flowers for Every Season DSP and stamp, colour and die cut out the house with the Coming Home bundle.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Misty Moonlight and Whisper White with just a peek of Poppy Parade.
Snowflake sky Christmas card tutorial
Start with an A6 landscape card of Misty Moonlight. Add a card front layer of Trimming the Town DSP (it only needs to be approx. 2/3 the depth/height of the card) . Cut two card front layers of Whisper White card. Using the curve die with trees and the plain curve die, both from the Coming Home die set, die cut the Whisper White layers at different heights. Die cut out one of the houses from Trimming the Town DSP.
Adhere the snow layer with trees direct to the card front. Using Misty Moonlight ink, stamp the sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals at the right side of the other snow layer before popping it up on the card front with dimensionals. Pop the house up on the card front with more dimensionals. Finish by adding Adhesive-backed Snowflakes to the sky.
Snowflake sky Christmas card insert
On the Whisper White insert, using Misty Moonlight ink, stamp a sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals set. Add a small house and the lamp post from the Trimming the Town set in the lower right corner with the same ink.
Thanks for stopping by.
