Today’s tutorial is for a personalised, copper star Christmas card for a son.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the copper star son Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
The star on the card is a 3D version but doesn’t add too much bulk for posting.
Unfortunately the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP has sold out but you could use a plain navy background.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Night of Navy with Metallic Copper and just a touch of Metallic Silver.
Copper star son card tutorial
Start with an A6 landscape card of Night of Navy. Add a card front layer of Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP. Using the Stitched Stars dies, die cut a large solid star from Copper Foil. Add Adhesive Sheet behind a large scrap of Silver Foil and die cut out a smaller openwork star. Score and fold the large solid star (see video) and adhere the silver one centrally over the top.
Using Night of Navy ink, stamp a sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals set onto a strip of Whisper White. Add the personalisation below the sentiment using the same Nigh of Navy ink and the appropriate relative from the Family Party set. Trim the strip so that it will end underneath the star. Mat onto a strip of Copper Foil. Adhere direct to the card front. Pop the star up with dimensionals. Finish with a Star Designer Element.
Copper star son card insert
On the Whisper White insert, using Night of Navy ink, stamp a sentiment, the mug and the steam from the Warm Hugs set. Stamp the inside of the mug over the top of the outline one, stamping off first for a paler shade. Add a strip of the same DSP used on the front of the card, to the right side.
Thanks for stopping by.
