Tutorial for ombre get well card

January 15, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for an ombre get well card. This is a very simple card – quick and easy. The embossing folder gives beautiful texture to the card front but if you’re a beginner and you don’t have a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine yet, you could use the DSP flat.

For the sentiment I’ve used the same punch to create the label and the “frame”. I have a video for you showing how to do this and with an extra tip besides. Please hop over to my Youtube channel to check out the video and click Subscribe for further weekly tips in the future. Thanks!

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the ombre get well card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

We have advance notice of a great number of occasions throughout the year. We know when a friend’s birthday is, or when Easter is due to fall, or Valentine’s day. Some occasions though, both happy and sad, can spring a surprise. We may need a quick card to congratulate passing a test, or let someone know we’re thinking of them if they fall ill. In these cases, a quick card that will arrive in a timely manner may be better than waiting until we can create something more elaborate. This layout for a framed label on a pretty background is ideal for such occasions.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Blackberry Bliss. Cut a a card front layer from Oh So Ombre DSP with the light area at the base. Run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine using the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder. Adhere the texture layer direct to the card front. Punch a label from Basic White card using the Label Me Lovely punch. Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp a sentiment from the Healing Hugs set onto the label. Punch the same label from Oh So Ombre DSP. Snip in two (trim the edges if preferred, see the video) and adhere behind the stamped label. Pop up on the card front with dimensionals.
