Today’s tutorial is for an ombre donkey birthday card. Who says that donkeys must be grey? I’ve opted to see my little cutey through rose coloured spectacles 😂

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the ombre donkey birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

I used the Hippo & Friends die set for the labels on this card. There are three different shaped sets of nested labels in the set, useful for a wide range of projects. The colour combo mixes Rococo Rose, Merry Merlot and Smoky Slate.

Ombre donkey birthday card tutorial

Start with an A6 portrait card of Smoky Slate. Mat with Merry Merlot card and Oh So Ombre DSP. Use Hippo & Friends dies to cut two labels from Whisper White card and two label mats from Merry Merlot card. Using Merry Merlot ink, stamp the standing donkey from Darling Donkeys onto the larger label and a sentiment from the set on the smaller one. Colour the donkey with Stampin’ Blends. Adhere the stamped labels direct to the label mats and pop them up on the card front with dimensionals. Finish with Butterfly Gems.

Ombre donkey birthday card insert

On the Whisper White insert, using Merry Merlot ink, stamp further sentiments from the Darling Donkeys set. Use the same ink to stamp the kicking donkey below. Add a border of the same Oh So Ombre DSP used on the front, down the right side.
