Today’s tutorial is for a dragonfly thank you card. The Flower & Field DSP (one of our Sale-a-bration freebies) provides a background for the pretty dragonfly.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Dragonflies punch. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that use it.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the dragonfly thank you card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Misty Moonlight, Basic Black and Shaded Spruce.

Dragonfly thank you card tutorial

Start with an A6 landscape card of Shaded Spruce Mat first with Misty Moonlight card and then with Flower and Field DSP. Using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from the Dragonfly Garden set onto a small scrap of Basic White card. Die cut the sentiment with the small scalloped frame using the Stitched So Sweetly set. Mat onto a slightly larger scalloped rectangle die cut from Misty Moonlight card and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Die cut further frames from Shaded Spruce and Misty Moonlight card with the Stitched So Sweetly set. Layer these together and pop them up on the card front with more dimensionals.

Using Memento Black ink stamp the dragonfly with a solid body onto Basic White card. Punch out with the Dragonflies punch. Colour with Blends. Once dry, paint the wings with Wink Of Stella. Shape the wings over a bone folder and adhere the dragonfly in the centre of the frames.

Dragonfly thank you card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp another sentiment and the same dragonfly from the Dragonfly Garden set. Colour the dragonfly again with Blends.
