My tutorial today is for a balloon donkey birthday card. Ever since I saw the donkey kicking his heels up I had this idea in mind.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the balloon donkey birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

I used the Balloon Bouquet punch for these particular balloons but other options include the Special Days dies, Happy dies or Hippo & Friends dies. Each set includes a balloon(s) but they vary a little in shape and size.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Night of Navy with splashes of Rococo Rose and Petal Pink.

Balloon donkey birthday card tutorial

Start with an A6 portrait card of Night of Navy. Mat with a card front layer Paper Blooms DSP. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the kicking donkey from the Darling Donkeys set onto the long panel of Basic White card and colour with Blends. Add a sentiment from the set using Night of Navy ink. Use the Balloon Bouquet punch (or see above for alternatives) to punch three balloons from the Paper Blooms DSP. Adhere these direct to the stamped panel, above the donkey’s tail. Use a marker to draw the balloon strings from the balloons down to the donkey’s tail. Mat the panel onto Night of Navy card and pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the Basic White insert, using Night of Navy ink, stamp sentiments and sitting donkey from the Darling Donkeys set.
