Today’s tutorial is for a Heart on heart anniversary card. The white Resin Hearts add a little extra to the design without drawing the eye too much.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Heart on heart anniversary card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

For this card I decided to combine the tiny Resin Hearts with even more hearts. The Floral Heart dies are very intricate and so to make adhering them easier, I turned them into stickers with Adhesive Sheet.

Hearts are quite a common theme among the stamps and dies in our January-June catalogue. I opted for the Always in My Heart set but you could also choose the Lots of Heart bundle, Valentine Keepsakes set or Kangaroo & Company.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Basic Gray, Coastal Cabana and Smoky Slate.

This combo was actually a happy accident. Originally I was planning on working with Basic Black, Gray and White but I decided that was too sombre for an anniversary card so looked to add a pop of colour. Once I’d added the Coastal Cabana I decided the Smoky Slate would give a great tone on tone look. Hearts and flowers but not quite so girly. I’ll be using this combo again.

Heart on heart anniversary card

Start with an A6 portrait card of Coastal Cabana. Cut a card front layer of Basic Gray. Back some Smoky Slate card with Adhesive Sheet and die cut the heart borders and the floral heart from it with the Floral Heart dies. Peel the backing from the die cuts and stick them to the Basic Gray card layer. Adhere this direct to the card front. Die cut the central heart from Coastal Cabana and adhere this in place in the negative space of the Smoky Slate heart. Using memento Black ink, stamp the sentiment from the Always in My Heart set onto a strip of Basic White card. Die cut out with the banner from the Floral Heart dies. Fold the banner along the scorelines and adhere the ends over the heart (the centre section will remain popped up). Finish with Resin Hearts.

On the Basic White insert, stamp another sentiment and the outline trio of hearts from the Always in My Heart set with Basic Gray ink ink. Stamp the solid trio of hearts over the top with Coastal Cabana ink.
