Today’s tutorial is for a hand-penned floral birthday card. We’re stepping up yesterday’s hand-penned art card, switching colours for some brighter shades, creating more layers and adding a few embellishments.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the hand-penned floral birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The Hand-penned DSP has a co-ordinating polka dot pattern to the Hand-penned Memories & More Card but in Pale Papaya.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Pool Party, Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral.

Hand-penned floral birthday card

Start with a Hand-penned Memories & More Card & Envelope. Cut a large panel of Hand-penned DSP and mat onto Calypso Coral card. Pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Using Pool Party ink, stamp the leaves from Art Gallery onto Basic White card. Using Pale Papaya ink, stamp the large solid flower head onto Basic White card. Stamp the detail flower head over the top with the Calypso Coral ink. Die cut out with the Floral Gallery dies.

Pop the leaves and flowerhead up on the main panel with dimensionals. Die cut out a long postage edged label from Basic White card with the Floral Gallery dies. Using Calypso Coral ink, stamp a sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set onto the label. Pop up over the leaf stem with dimensionals.

Add a bow of Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot. Finish with some Loose Flower Flourishes.

Hand-penned floral birthday card inside

On the inside of the card, stamp the medium, flat flower from Art Gallery using Pale Papaya ink. Stamp the little flower over the top with the Calypso Coral ink. Add another sentiment from the Art Gallery set with the same ink. Add a strip of the same pattern of Hand-penned DSP down the right side.

A printed envelope is also included the hand-penned memories & more cards & envelopes pack.
