Tutorial for hand penned thank you card

May 17, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for a hand-penned thank you card. This card mixes all five of the new In Colors in a pretty flower bouquet.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the hand-penned stamp set. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that use this beautiful floral set. If you like the set, then it’s also worth checking out my Hand-Penned Card Class.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the hand-penned thank you card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Fresh Freesia. Adhere a card front layer of Hand-Penned DSP direct to the card. Die cut a large scalloped rectangle from Fresh Freesia card using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Pop this up on the card front with dimensionals. Using Gray Granite ink, stamp the large flower spray from the Hand-Penned Petals set, onto Basic White card. Stamp the largest solid flower with Pale Papaya ink. Add Fresh Freesia ink with the two medium flowers. Using Polished Pink ink, stamp the small duo of flower. Stamp the two small leaves at the back with Evening Evergreen ink and then add the remainder of the leaves with Soft Succulent ink. Die cut out with the matching Penned Flowers dies and then pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the Basic White insert, stamp a sentiment from the Hand-Penned Petals set using Fresh Freesia ink. Using Soft Succulent ink, stamp the stem in the bottom right corner and then add the flower head over the top with more Fresh Freesia ink.

I also made alternate versions of the same card, using a different In Color as the card base and background for each one.
