Today’s tutorial is for a pearl seashell birthday card. The dark contrast of espresso against pearl and the CAS (clean and simple) layout, make this a great masculine card.

I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that use this embossing folder, sometimes on its own and sometimes with the matching stamp set and dies.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the pearl seashell birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

This card uses the Artistically Inked stamp set for the sentiments and decorating the insert. We’ll be using the set together with other elements of the Expressions in Ink suite for our June class to go, so please keep a lookout for it or email me if you’d like a reminder.

The colour combo mixes Pearl, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.

Pearl seashell birthday card

Start with an A6 landscape card of Early Espresso. Run a card front layer of Pearlescent Specialty Paper through the Seashell 3D embossing folder. Adhere direct to the card front. Using Early Espresso ink, stamp a sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set onto a strip of Very Vanilla card. Mat onto Early Espresso card. Pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

Pearl seashell birthday card insert

On the Very Vanilla insert, stamp another sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set using Early Espresso ink. Use the same ink to stamp the marbled ink spot down the right side.
