Today’s tutorial is for an Evening Evergreen expressions xmas card. Now that we’re past my birthday (yesterday) I’ll be adding the odd Christmas project every week or two for those who like to get a head start. Of course if Christmas is not your celebration, or it’s simply too early, then please feel free to use the card layout and substitute a different sentiment.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Evening Evergreen expressions xmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
All of the Expressions on Ink patterns are beautiful but I find this darker one especially striking so I wanted plenty of the pattern to show through. I used the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and co-ordinating dies so very often last year and they’re still are available in this year’s catalogue but you can no longer get the bundled savings.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce and Metallic Gold.

Start with an A6 landscape card of Evening Evergreen. Cut a card front layer of Expressions in Ink Specialty DSP and adhere direct. Die cut and emboss two of the larger poinsettias from Evening Evergreen card using the Poinsettia dies. Curl the petals (see video below). Die cut and emboss two of the medium poinsettias from Gold Foil and curl their petals too. Adhere together directly, offsetting all the petals. Finish the centre of the poinsettia with a Gilded Gem. Using the Painted Labels die set, die cut a label from Very Vanilla. Using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp a sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals set onto the label. Pop up on dimensionals, tucking the corner under the poinsettia.
Here’s a “quick tip video” showing how to curl the petals. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to make sure you see all future quick tips.

On the Very Vanilla insert, stamp another sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set using Evening Evergreen ink. Use the same ink to add the holly leaves and berries from the same set, stamping off first for the shading inside the leaves.
Thanks for stopping by.
