Today’s tutorial is for a Pale Papaya vellum birthday card. This time we’re creating a summer flower from the shimmer vellum and Poinsettia dies.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Fresh Freesia vellum thank you card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
This card was another of the make and takes at our monthly online team meeting in June. We have a formal meeting with a “mini class” of optional make and takes on the second Tuesday evening of each month (next one is 13 July). There’s also an informal coffee and craft session, where we can have a “proper natter”, later in the month. If you’d like to know more about joining our team to craft along at future meetings then please email me.
Colour Combo
The colour combo uses only Pale Papaya and Basic White.
Pale Papaya vellum birthday card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Pale Papaya. Cut a card front layer of Basic White card and run through the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. Adhere direct to the card front. Using the Scalloped Contours dies, die cut a stitched scalloped rectangle from Pale Papaya card. Cut a panel of Basic White card to fit within the stitching. Using Pale Papaya ink, stamp a sentiment from the Shaded Summer set at the base of the panel. Adhere direct to the scalloped Pale Papaya rectangle and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Die cut and emboss two of the medium poinsettias from Pale Papaya Shimmer Vellum using the Poinsettia dies. Curl the petals (see video). Adhere together directly, offsetting all the petals and adhere above the sentiment on the main panel. Finish the centre of the flower with one of the Loose Flower Flourishes.
Pale Papaya vellum birthday card insert
On the Basic White insert, stamp another sentiment from the Shaded Summer stamp set using Pale Papaya ink. Use the same ink to add the flower spray from the same set in the lower right corner.
Thanks for stopping by.
