Today’s tutorial is for a simply happiest birthday card. This quick and easy card uses few supplies, the stamps and DSP do all the work.
Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that share different ideas for using these stamps on your projects.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the simply happiest birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
The Simply Elegant DSP pack has metallic foiling on one side of each sheet in the pack (12 sheets). This pattern has a mix of copper, silver and gold. I’ve also used a beautiful Basic Gray, Silver and Gold pattern on a previous birthday card.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Basic Black, Basic White and Metallic Copper.
Simply happiest birthday card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Basic Black. Cut a card front layer of Simply Elegant Specialty DSP and adhere direct. Cut a large panel of Basic White card. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the large sentiment from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set in the centre. Adhere this direct to a mat of Basic Black and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Finish with Matte Black Dots in the corners of the sentiment panel.
Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together.
Simply happiest birthday card insert
On the Basic White insert, stamp another sentiment from the Happiest of Birthdays set using Memento Black ink. Add a skinny strip of the same pattern of DSP used on the front, down at the base.
Thanks for stopping by.
