Today’s tutorial is for a masculine birthday tidings card. I’ve mixed simple patterns from the Tidings of Christmas DSP with the Party Puffins stamp set.

I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that share different ideas for using this DSP on your projects. We will use it for some Christmas projects but I also wanted to show that you can use it for other occasions too.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the masculine birthday tidings card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The Tidings of Christmas DSP pack has some subtle Christmas patterns on most sheets and a few others are simple patterns, just in Christmas colours, so these papers can be used for a wide variety of projects. I have already shared a Christmas card with this DSP as the background layer.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Early Espresso, Sahara Sand and Metallic Gold.

Masculine birthday tidings card

Start with an A6 landscape card of Early Espresso. Cut a bunch of short strips of the Sahara Sand patterns of the Tidings of Christmas DSP and adhere direct across the front of the card. Diagonally snip a couple of pieces of Gold Shimmer Ribbon and Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim. Adhere them, overlapping, to the front of the card. Using Early Espresso ink, stamp the sentiment from the Party Puffins stamp set on a small panel of Basic White card. Mat onto Early Espresso card and pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the Basic White insert, stamp another sentiment from the Party Puffins set using Early Espresso ink. Use the same ink to add the candles across the base. Add a strip of one of the patterns of DSP used on the front, down the right side.
