Tutorial for shaded symmetry hello card

July 21, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for a shaded symmetry hello card. Again, I’ve used some subtle patterned papers for my backgrounds so that they don’t compete too much with my stamped images.

I’ve also included a sneak peek of a Sale-a-bration freebie – the Summer Shadows die set, available from 3 August, free with a £90 purchase. These dies cut out the three floral images in the Shaded Summer stamp set and they also die cut various two-layer flowers and leaves (similar to the Poppy Moments dies).

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the shaded symmetry hello card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Calypso Coral. Adhere a card front layer of one the subtle patterns of Sweet Symmetry DSP, direct to the card front. Using a Just Jade marker, colour the leaves direct to stamp for one of the flowers in the Shaded Summer set. Colour the flower direct to stamp using a Calypso Coral marker. Huff and stamp onto Basic White card. Use a Pale Papaya Blend (I used Light) to colour the centres of the stamped flowers. Die cut out with the Summer Shadows die set. Pop up on dimensionals onto a subtle patterned panel of Sweet Symmetry DSP and mat onto Just Jade card before popping up all the layers on the card front with dimensionals. Colour the sentiment direct to stamp using a Calypso Coral marker. Huff and stamp onto a panel of Basic White card. Mat onto Calypso Coral card and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Using the Simmer Shadows dies, die cut a solid flower from Pale Papaya card and the outline from Calypso Coral card. Adhere together and pop up on dimensionals on the sentiment panel.

Colour the little leaf spray direct to stamp using a Just Jade marker. Huff and stamp to one side of the sentiment. Repeat on the other side of the sentiment. Add a strip of the Sweet Symmetry DSP along the base.

Thanks for stopping by.
