Today’s tutorial is for a Blackberry Beauty birthday card. The background paper is from one of our new Specialty DSP packs and is foiled with gold for a very rich look.

Usually, each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, as we’re getting so close to the launch of another mini catalogue and another Sale-a-bration, I decided to focus on sharing some sneak peeks of upcoming products. They all launch on 3 August.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Blackberry Beauty birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything that’s already available.

The Metallic Foil layer and sentiment mat are a returning favourite from last year – Brushed Metallics in Bronze, Copper and Gold.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Blackberry Bliss, Metallic Gold and Very Vanilla.

Blackberry Beauty birthday card

Start with an A6 portrait card of Blackberry Bliss. Cut a card front layer of Brushed Metallic card. From the central, upper half of this layer, die cut out the swirly label using the Painted Label dies. Adhere the remaining layer direct to the card front. Adhere a card front layer of one the foiled patterns of Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP, direct to the card front. Using the Layering Circle dies, die cut a circle from Very Vanilla card to fit within the Metallic label. Stamp a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set onto the circle, using Blackberry Bliss ink. Adhere the sentiment to the Metallic label and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Finish with a bow of Gold Shimmer Ribbon, adhered with a Mini Glue Dot.

On the Very Vanilla insert, stamp a sentiment and corner decorative elements from the Lovely You set using Blackberry Bliss ink.
