Tutorial for Sheep Christmas card

August 7, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for a Sheep Christmas card. We’re combining the Sheep dies with the matching Counting Sheep stamp set again and then adding the Whimsical Trees bundle. So that we can have our sheep trimming the tree.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Sheep Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own (the order code for the Sheep die set is 156600, Counting Sheep set is 156591 and Penguin Playmates DSP is 158420).

I shared a quick tip video below explaining how to make the most of Sale-a-bration. Please note, as I mention in the video – the Sheep dies are only available while supplies last, so grab these first if you plan to spread your Sale-a-bration shopping over two months.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Soft Sea Foam, Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Shaded Spruce. Adhere a card front layer of Penguin Playmates DSP. Using Gray Granite ink (for a softer look), stamp the regular sheep and standing sheep onto a large scrap of Basic White card. Colour the sheep with the Petal Pink duo and the Smokey Slate duo Blends. Using Shaded Spruce ink, stamp the largest tree from the Whimsical Trees stamp set onto Basic White card. Add the spotted trimmings over the top with Cherry Cobbler ink.

Using the Sheep dies, die cut out the sheep. Die cut out the tree with the matching Christmas Trees die. Take a scrap of Gold Foil and die cut a star from it (I used the one from the Stockings die set as the stars from the Christmas Trees die set are a little small for this purpose). Using Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp a sentiment from the Whimsical Trees set onto a strip of Basic White card. Mat onto Shaded Spruce card. Pop all the elements up on the card front with mini/dimensionals, balancing the standing sheep on the back of the other.

On the Basic White insert, stamp another sentiment from the Whimsical Trees set using Cherry Cobbler ink. Use Shaded Spruce to stamp the smallest tree in the bottom right corner. Add a teeny Gold Foil star (the stars in the Christmas Trees die set are perfect for this size tree).

Thanks for stopping by.
