Today’s tutorial is for a Papaya Dahlia birthday card. This time I’m using the outline dahlia stamp from the Delicate Dahlias set (this stamp set is free with a £90 purchase during Sale-a-bration).
The sentiments used are from the In Your Words set. This is a special host set that you can earn for FREE by hosting a party (or simply collecting orders from friends) with sales of £275 or more.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Papaya Dahlia birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
The colour combo is only one colour different from the trio that I used on Monday. I’ve switched out Blackberry Bliss for Pale Papaya.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Pale Papaya, Cinnamon Cider and Metallic Gold.
Papaya Dahlia birthday card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Cinnamon Cider. Cut a card front layer from Hand-Penned DSP. Adhere a strip of Cinnamon Cider card approx. 1/3 up from the base of the DSP. Wrap Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon around the Cinnamon Cider strip and secure on the reverse before adhering the layers direct to the card front. Add a bow of the same ribbon to the wrapped ribbon with Mini Glue Dots.
Using Versamark ink, stamp the outline dahlia from the Delicate Dahlias set onto Basic White card. Heat emboss with Gold Emboss Powder. Colour the dahlia from the centre outwards, with the Light Pumpkin Pie and the duo of Pale Papaya Blends. Using the Layering Circle dies to die cut the dahlia out and die cut a larger scalloped circle from In Color Shimmer Vellum. Adhere the stamped circle direct to the vellum circle and then pop up on the upper section of the card front with dimensionals.
Using Versamark ink, stamp the birthday sentiment from the In Your Words set onto a thin strip of Basic White card. Heat emboss with Gold Emboss Powder. Using the Scalloped Contours dies, die cut the smallest label from In Color Shimmer Vellum. Adhere the stamped sentiment direct to the vellum label and then pop up on the lower section of the card front with dimensionals.
Papaya Dahlia birthday card insert
On the Basic White insert, using Cinnamon Cider ink, stamp another sentiment from theIn Your Words set. Using the same ink, stamp the solid trio of leaves in the bottom right corner, stamping off first for a paler shade. Stamp both the outline and solid small flowers with Pale Papaya ink.
Thanks for stopping by.
