Today’s tutorial is for a Spring Summer card. The card base is a Spring card design and the card is then decorated using the Summer Shadows die set (free with a £90 purchase during Sale-a-bration).

The Spring card design was my choice for the project I added to the August Tutorial bundle. I also opted to use it for swap cards for my Paper Dolls team.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Spring Summer card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own (the order code for the Summer Shadows dies is 156618).

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Basic Gray, Metallic Silver and Magenta Madness.

The Silver Foil Specialty Pack contains 3 different types of Silver Foil; brushed, matte and mirrored. We’re using the matte and mirrored versions for this card.

Spring Summer card

Start with a Spring card base of Basic Gray (details for this are in the August tutorial bundle or you can check out my old, but still working, template here). Mat the front of the card with (mirrored) Silver Foil and then Peaceful Place Specialty DSP. Using Magenta Madness ink, stamp a sentiment from the Shaded Summer stamp set onto a small square of Basic White card, rotated to a diamond shape. Mat onto mirrored Silver Foil and pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

Die cut one of the largest solid flowers and two of the smaller solid flowers from Magenta Madness card using the Summer Shadows dies. Die cut the corresponding outline flowers from matte Silver Foil and adhere these over the Magenta ones. Pop the largest flower up on the card front with dimensionals, overlapping the sentiment. Pop the smaller flowers up on each corner of the card front base with dimensionals.

Spring Summer card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Magenta Madness ink, stamp the smaller floral spray from the Shaded Summer set.

Each swap card was made with a team mate’s favourite colour. I’ve shared the Magenta version above but I also made Bumble Bee and Pumpkin Pie options.
