Today’s tutorial is for a Coastal Cabana Penned thank you card. It combines the Beautifully Penned DSP (free with a £45 purchase during Sale-a-bration), with the Hand-Penned Petals bundle.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Beautifully Penned DSP. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that share different ideas for using the papers on your projects.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Coastal Cabana Penned thank you card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own (the order code for the Beautifully Penned DSP is 156630).

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate and Basic Black.

Coastal Cabana Penned thank you card

Start with an A6 portrait card of Coastal Cabana. Cut a card front layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) of Beautifully Penned DSP and adhere direct to the card front. Cut a (1-1/2″ x 2-1/4″) panel of Smoky Slate card. With the long edge across the top of the Paper Trimmer, cut at 1-1/4″. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the sentiment from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set onto a 2″ x 1″ panel of Basic White card. Adhere the direct to the smaller Smoky Slate panel and pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

Using Memento Black ink, stamp the flower duo from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set onto a large scrap of Basic White card. Die cut out with the co-ordinating die from the Penned Flowers die set. Colour with Pool Party and Granny Apple Green Blends duos. Pop up on the larger Smoky Slate panel with mini dimensionals. Pop both layers up on the card front with regular dimensionals.

Coastal Cabana Penned thank you card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Coastal Cabana ink, stamp flowers from the Hand-Penned Petals set. Add a border of the Beautifully Penned DSP down the right side.

Here are the original versions of the cards as I mentioned in the video. You can see the softer look to the flowers as they were stamped with Gray Granite ink rather than Memento Black. I also used dies for the panels.
