Today’s tutorial is for a simple Merriest Christmas card. It adds a sentiment panel to an embossed background, all from the Merriest Moments bundle.
Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder. The embossing folder also comes with a set of 16 dies. Use them separately or together. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that share different ideas for using the embossing folder on your projects.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the simple Merriest Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade and Metallic Gold.
The Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade are both from the Brights Collection. You only need one pack of card to get both colours.
Simple Merriest Christmas card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Poppy Parade. Cut a card front layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) of Granny Apple Green card and run it through the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder. Adhere direct to the card front. Cut a (2″ x 2-3/4″) panel of Basic White card (or die cut the Stitched Rectangle frame from the accompanying die set). Using Poppy Parade ink, stamp the sentiment from the Merriest Moments stamp set onto the upper portion of the sentiment label (oriented in portrait layout). Adhere direct to the embossed layer. Create a bow of Gold Shimmer Ribbon and attach it below the sentiment with a Mini Glue Dot.
Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
Simple Merriest Christmas card insert
On the Basic White insert, using Poppy Parade ink, stamp another sentiment from the Merriest Moments stamp set. Add poinsettia leaves with Granny Apple Green ink and stamp the smaller petals offset, over the top, with Poppy Parade ink.
If this colour combo is a little too bright for you, then you could opt for mixing Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce instead. They are both from the Regals Collection and would give you this alternative.
Thanks for stopping by.
