Today’s tutorial is for a joyful playmates hello card. It combines the Joyful Life stamp set with the Penguin Playmates DSP.

The Penguin Playmates DSP (free with a £45 purchase during Sale-a-bration) has subtle patterns on one side of the papers and fun character images on the other side. This time we’re using the fun characters as a background for a different fun character from another stamp set. Look more closely and you’ll see that what ties all the characters together is that they’re all wearing scarves.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Fresh Freesia, Misty Moonlight and Petal Pink.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Misty Moonlight. Cut a card front layer of Penguin Playmates DSP and adhere direct to the card front. Cut a panel of Basic White. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the pig from the Joyful Life set and the sentiment from the Expressions in Ink set. Colour the pig with the Petal Pink duo of Stampin’ Blends. Colour the scarf with Just Jade, Fresh Freesia and Misty Moonlight Blends to reflect the colours of scarves in the background. Using a Poppy Parade Blend, colour the cup. Mat the panel onto Misty Moonlight card and pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

Joyful playmates hello card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from the Joyful Life set. Add a strip of the Penguin Playmates DSP down the right side of the insert.
