Today’s tutorial is for an expressions wreath Christmas card. I’m back to the green and gold patterns within the Expressions in Ink Specialty DSP, this time the darker Evening Evergreen.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the expressions wreath Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Evening Evergreen, Metallic Gold and Very Vanilla.
Expressions wreath Christmas card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Evening Evergreen. Mat with a card front layer of Expressions in Ink Specialty DSP. Using Seasonal Swirls dies, die cut a holly leaf wreath from Evening Evergreen card and Gold Foil and just the centre of the wreath from Very Vanilla card. Using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp a sentiment from the Tidings and Trimmings set onto the Very Vanilla centre. Adhere this direct to the card front. Jigsaw-piece the Evening Evergreen wreath in place around the sentiment (see video below). Adhere the Gold Foil wreath over the top, offsetting the sprigs and leaves slightly. Finish by adding a bow of Gold Shimmer Ribbon to the top of the wreath with a Mini Glue Dot.
Here’s a quick tip video for creating sentiment centres for a wreath without bulk. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel for future quick tips and quick cards.
Expressions wreath Christmas card insert
On the Very Vanilla insert, using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp a sentiment from the Tidings and Trimmings set. Use the same ink to repeatedly stamp the trio of leaves across the top, stamping each second trio without reinking, for a paler shade. Add a strip of the Expressions in Ink Specialty DSP across the base.
