Today’s tutorial is for a zigzag shimmer ribbon card. This ribbon treatment provides a stunning background to a small sentiment and makes the most of the Specialty DSP layer.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the zigzag shimmer ribbon card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
The specialty DSP, the dies, the gems and the insert stamps used on this card, are all sneak peeks from the Eden’s Garden suite which will be available from 2 November. Although the bundle of stamps and dies are an early release from the January–June 2022 Mini Catalogue, the DSP and gems are exclusive to the promotion and only available until 3 January, or while stocks last.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Soft Succulent, Metallic Gold and Fresh Freesia.
Zigzag shimmer ribbon card
Start with an A6 landscape card of Soft Succulent. Mat with a card front layer of Fresh Freesia and then one of Ever Eden Specialty DSP. Zigzag Gold Shimmer Ribbon across the centre of the card (see video below). Die cut a fancy label from Soft Succulent card using the Eden dies. Using Fresh Freesia ink, stamp a sentiment from Art Gallery onto a skinny strip of Basic White card and adhere direct to the fancy label. Pop up over the ribbon with dimensionals (see the video tip below). Finish with Garden Gems.
Here’s a quick tip video for the zigzag ribbon treatment. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel for future quick tips and quick cards.
Zigzag shimmer ribbon card insert
On the Basic White insert, using Fresh Freesia ink, stamp a sentiment from the Eden’s Garden stamp set. Use both Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent inks to alternately stamp two different leaves from the same stamp set, across the base.
