Tutorial for abstract congrats card

December 20, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for an abstract congrats card. This is a super quick card and the sentiment can easily be switched out for any occasion.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the abstract congrats card.

Abstract congrats card tutorial

Usually, each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. However, because so many retiring items have already sold out, I’ve suspended the pick of the week and also the supply lists that usually go with the tutorials. I’ll resume both in the new year when we have fresh goodies for you all.

Instead, until January, I’m sharing projects that all include a sneak peek of what we have coming up for you in January. Some projects may only include one sneak peek, others may have more, so please stop by regularly to check.

Sneak Peek

The sneak peek on this card is the Abstract Beauty (4″ x 6″) Specialty DSP. This is a new size of Designer Series Paper and is from the Abstract Beauty suite. Each pack (£14) has 48 sheets, 4 each of 12 double-sided designs, with gold foiling on one of the sides.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Mint Macaron. Cut a card front layer of Abstract Beauty (4″ x 6″) Specialty DSP bit do not adhere yet. Cut a scrap strip of Balmy Blue card to 1-1/4″ deep and then a strip of Basic White card 1″ deep. Both should be around 1.5x the width of the card. Using Misty Moonlight ink, stamp a sentiment from A Grand Kid across the Basic White strip. Adhere the stamped strip centrally on the Balmy Blue strip. Position diagonally across the DSP layer, adhere in place and trim away any excess. Adhere the DSP and sentiment layers direct to the card front.

Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.

On the Basic White insert, using Misty Moonlight ink, stamp a sentiment from the Color & Contour stamp set. Add the DSP strip left over from the card front along the base and adhere a skinny strip of Balmy Blue card above it.

Thanks for stopping by.
