Today’s tutorial is for a retirement driving by card. It uses the little camper van from the Driving By stamp set (free with a £45 purchase during Sale-a-bration).

Many people have the urge to travel as part of their retirement. Whether that’s for real or simply armchair style, the little camper van symbolises the travel itch. The new Paradise Palms has very fitting sentiments and I added one of the Layering Designs Vellums as a background.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the retirement driving by card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own (the order code for the Driving By stamp set is 158099).

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Smoky Slate, Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black.

Retirement driving by card

Start with an A6 landscape card of Smoky Slate. Add a card front layer of more Smoky Slate onto one of Pumpkin Pie. Cut a further card front layer of Layering Design Vellum and attach to the prepared layers in each corner with small white round brads from the Round and Square Brads. Pop the layers up on the card front with dimensionals.

Stamp the camper van from the Drving By stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White using Memento Black ink. Colour with Stampin’ Blends (Pumpkin Pie duo, Light Smoky Slate, Light Basic Black, Light Pool Party). Fussy cut out and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from the Paradise Palms set onto a scrap of Basic White card. Punch out with the Double Oval. Adhere this direct to a scalloped oval punched from Pumpkin Pie card with the same punch and pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

Retirement driving by card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp another sentiment from the Paradise Palms stamp set. Colour the palm trees direct to stamp with Early Espresso and Shaded Spruce markers (not Blends), huff and stamp onto the insert.
