Today’s tutorial is for a birthday driving by card. It uses all three vehicles from the Driving By stamp set (free with a £45 purchase during Sale-a-bration).

The layout and colour scheme reflect a stylised set of traffic lights, in keeping with the vehicles.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the birthday driving by card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own (the order code for the Driving By stamp set is 158099).

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green.

Birthday driving by card

Start with a tall slim card of Basic Black. Back a card front panel of Smoky Slate with Adhesive Sheet and then die cut out with the Slim Card dies. Adhere the die cut layer direct to the card front. Using the Layering Circles, die cut three circles from Basic White card. (I made the centre one a little smaller to fit them on the card better).

Stamp each of the three vehicles from the Driving By stamp set, onto the three circles, using Memento Black ink. Selectively ink and stamp one of the sentiments from the same set, spreading the words over the top of the sports car and the camper van. Add a sentiment from Art Gallery over the top of the beetle car. Colour with Stampin’ Blends (Poppy Parade duo, Daffodil Delight duo, Granny Apple Green duo, Smoky Slate duo, Light Basic Black). Pop the circles up on dimensionals on the card front.

Birthday driving by card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from the Slim Sayings stamp set. Using Smoky Slate ink, stamp the sports car in the corner of the Slimline Envelope.
