Tutorial for encircled Butterflies card

February 11, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for an encircled Butterflies card. The soft background to the main image is the Simply Marbleous DSP. Both the Catching Butterflies stamp set and the Simply Marbleous DSP are each free with a £45 purchase during Sale-a-bration.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the encircled Butterflies card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own (the order code for the Catching Butterflies stamp set is 158108).

Start with an A6 portrait card of Flirty Flamingo. Cut a card front layer of Simply Marbleous DSP and adhere direct to the card front. Using the Encircled in Beauty dies, die cut a large circle from Basic White card and a small one from Blushing Bride card. Stamp the girl from the Catching Butterflies set onto the white circle using Memento Black ink. Colour with Blends (Pool Party, Light Petal Pink, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Bronze). Pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Using Flirty Flamingo ink, stamp a sentiment from the set onto the Blushing Bride circle and pop it up, overlapping the main one. Finish with a trio of Brushed Brass Butterflies.

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp the group of butterflies from the Catching Butterflies set in the upper right corner. Colour with Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party Blends. Add a border of the Simply Marbleous DSP along the base.

This card was my swap this month. Swapping is one of the activities we do as a crafting team. It’s entirely optional. Team members just let me know each month, whether they’re taking part or not. That we all know how many swaps to make. We have a theme each month to give us a starting point but it’s always a pretty open theme, to be as inclusive as possible. If you’d like to know more about joining our team then please email me because Sale-a-bration is the best time to do so.

Thanks for stopping by.
