Today’s tutorial is for a quick blue foil thanks card. The photos don’t pick up the shine of the foil too well but check out the video for a better look.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Blue Foils Specialty Paper (don’t be fooled – it’s cardstock weight, not paper!). I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week, that share different ideas for using these beautiful shiny sheets.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick blue foil thanks card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Night of Navy, Smoky Slate and Metallic Silver.

Quick blue foil thanks card

Start with an A6 portrait card of Night of Navy. Cut a card front layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) of Smoky Slate card and adhere centrally, direct to the card front. Cut the next layer (3-5/8″ x 5-1/4″) of Sweet Symmetry DSP and adhere centrally, direct to the card front. Using Night of Navy ink, stamp a sentiment from the Bragworthy set onto a rectangle (2-1/2″ x 1-1/4″) of Basic White card. Mat onto (2-3/4″ x 1-1/2″) Silver Foil from the Blue Foils pack. Mat again onto (3″ x 1-3/4″) Night of Navy Foil from the same pack. Pop the sentiment layers up on dimensionals on the card front. Finish with a trio of Blue Adhesive-backed Gems in the lower right corner.

On the Basic White insert, using Night of Navy ink, stamp another sentiment from the Bragworthy set. Add a border of Sweet Symmetry DSP along the base.
