Today’s tutorial is for a quick Slim frames card. It actually uses “leftovers” from a card I’ll be sharing later in the week.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Slim dies set. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week, that share different ideas for using these dies.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick Slim frames card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Blushing Bride, Magenta Madness and Metallic Gold.

Some of our January-June catalogue papers (such as this Abstract Beauty Specialty DSP) include retiring In Colors which have now sold out. It’s easy though to find other colours from the palette that will work. I picked the Blushing Bride as my card base for this card and the video but you can see the Magenta Madness version by scrolling down.

Slim frames card

Start with an A6 landscape card of Blushing Bride. Cut a card front layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) of Abstract Beauty Specialty DSP and adhere direct to the card front. Using Stitched Rectangle dies, die cut two nesting rectangles from Basic White card and Gold Foil. Stamp a sentiment from the Slim Sayings set onto the White rectangle with Memento Black ink. Pop the sentiment up on the Gold label with dimensionals and then both layers onto the card front with more dimensionals.

Die cut the chevron card front from Basic White card using the Slim dies. Retain the card front for another project. Add two of the “leftover” die cut chevrons around the sentiment to frame it, with mini dimensionals.

Slim frames card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp another sentiment from the Slim Sayings set. Add the strip trimmed from the background DSP on the card front down the right side of the insert.

This shows the same card made with Magenta Madness card (in case you already have some).
