Today’s tutorial is for a Slim birthday card. I’m also using this design to introduce you to one of our fabulous new In Colors – Parakeet Party. This is an amazing bright green shade and the Basic Black shows it in its full plumage!

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Slim birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own (with the exception of the Parakeet Party card, until 3 May).

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Parakeet Party, Basic Black and Metallic Silver.

Slim birthday card

Start with a tall slim card of Basic Black. Mat with a slim panel of Parakeet Party. Using the Slim Card dies, die cut a card front layer of more Basic Black. Adhere direct to the Parakeet Party layer. Using the Hydrangea dies, die cut a bunch of the tiny Hydrangea petals. Adhere each one inside an open shape on the card front, leaving one shape empty. Die cut a Silver Foil Hydrangea and adhere it in the centre of the empty shape. Finish the Silver flower with a Basic Rhinestone. Stamp a sentiment from the Slim Sayings set onto a tall thin panel of Parakeet Party with Memento Black ink. Mat onto Basic Black card and pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

Slim birthday card insert

On the Basic White insert, stamp the birthday sentiment from the Slim Sayings set on two different lines using Memento Black ink. Add the Hydrangea from the Hydrangea stamp set in the bottom right corner with the same ink.
