Tutorial for emboss metal birthday card

August 22, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a masculine emboss metal birthday card. A whole card front layer of metallic card is dry embossed with the Gingham folder.

The Brushed Metallic cardstock was added to the Sale-a-bration offer as free with a £45 purchase during Sale-a-bration but unfortunately it is now out of stock. As it is in the main catalogue it will be available for purchase when supplies come back in. The Gingham embossing folder has also been added to the Sale-a-bration offer and is currently available (but please note that supplies run out quickly as we reach the end of the promotion).

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Brushed Metallic cardstock. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week, that share different ideas for using these beautiful metallic foils.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the masculine emboss metal birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Coastal Cabana. Mat with Bermuda Bay. Cut a card front layer of Brushed Metallic cardstock in Bronze and run the layer through the Gingham embossing folder to give it texture. Adhere direct to the card front. Cut a 2″ x 2″ square of Basic White card and a 2-1/4 x 2-1/4″ square of Bermuda Bay card. Orient the Basic White square as a diamond (to mirror the mini diamonds in the background). Using Bermuda Bay ink, stamp a sentiment from the He’s All That set onto it. Adhere direct to the Bermuda Bay diamond and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Finish with Brushed Metallic Dots.

Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
