Tutorial for quick Split Texture card

August 29, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a quick split texture masculine birthday card. This combines one of the Split Texture dies with two of the silver foils from the Specialty Pack.

The Silver Foil Specialty Pack was added to the Sale-a-bration offer as free with a £45 purchase during Sale-a-bration but unfortunately it is now out of stock. As it is in the main catalogue it will be available for purchase when supplies come back in.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Split Texture dies. These are currently also out of stock – I’m obviously picking winners here! They will be coming back into the warehouse so keep an eye open. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week, that share different ideas for using this duo of fancy dies that easily pattern half a card front.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick split texture masculine birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Basic Black. Cut a card front layer of Mirrored Charcoal Foil. Using the square design from the Split Card Textures set, die cut the design from the layer. Trim a panel of Brushed Silver to fit behind the die cut layer. Adhere this direct to the card front. Pop the die cut layer up over the top with Foam Adhesive Strips. Stamp a birthday sentiment from the Artistically Inked set twice onto narrow strips of Basic White card using Memento Black ink. Trim the strips to create two separate words (with a little “breathing space” around each). Pop these up on the card front with dimensionals.

Here’s a short(ish) video showing how this quick card comes together and giving a few tips along the way. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
