Tutorial for a tree Aglow Christmas card

September 7, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a tree Aglow Christmas card. The Lights Aglow Specialty DSP has several patterns that are repeated in different colours. Here I’m mixing the same pattern in two different colourways.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the tree Aglow Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Cherry Cobbler. Create card front panels of Lights Aglow DSP. Cut a panel of Cherry Cobbler pattern with four full “swags” (semi-circles) by 5-1/2″. Cut two strips of the Soft Succulent pattern with a little over one full swag by 5-1/2″. Adhere the Soft Succulent strips behind the Cherry Cobbler panel, lining up the patterns. Adhere the finished layers direct to the card front.

Prepare a thin strip of Cherry Cobbler card with an Embossing Buddy to ensure that the surface is fully dry and oil free. Stamp a sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set using Versamark ink. Cover with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and pour away any excess. If there are any loose specks of powder that are not part of the sentiment, brush these away with the Crafting Brush. Use a Heat Tool to set the powder, moving on to the next section as soon as the powder turns glossy. Allow to cool for a few minutes. Mat onto Soft Succulent card and pop up on dimensionals at the base of the card.

Following the same embossing tips above, stamp the tree from the Christmas Lights stamp set onto Soft Succulent card using Versamark ink. Heat emboss with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Die cut out with the co-ordinating Twinkling Lights dies. Pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Finish with Festive Pearls.

On the Basic White insert, using Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp two further sentiments from the Brightest Glow stamp set. Add a strip of one of the DSPs used as background on the card front, down the right side.

Thanks for stopping by.
