Today’s tutorial is for a quick Gnome card. The Gnomes dies will cut out stamped images (from the Kindest Gnomes set) and images from the Storybook Gnomes DSP. They can also be used entirely on their own, to assemble your own little gnome, as here. These quick gnomes are ideal for gift tags but I also wanted to show that you can feature them as a panel on a card front.
Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Gnomes dies. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week, that share different ideas for using these dies both alone and with the Storybook Gnomes DSP.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick Gnome card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
Colour Combo
This colour combo mixes Pool Party, Poppy Parade and Early Espresso.
Quick Gnome card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Poppy Parade. Mat with Storybook Gnomes DSP. Cut a 2″ x 4-1/2″ card front panel of Basic White card. Using Poppy Parade ink, stamp a sentiment from the Kindest Gnomes stamp set at the base. Mat direct to a 2-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ panel of Poppy Parade card. Pop the layers up on the card front with dimensionals. Using the Gnomes dies, die cut feet, beard, hat and nose from Early Espresso, Basic White, Pool Party and Petal Pink card respectively. Pop the elements up on the panel with dimensionals and mini dimensionals, starting at the feet. (See the video for placement of the different elements). Finish with Fine Soarkle Adhesive-backed Gems.
Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
Quick Gnome card insert
On the inside, using Poppy Parade ink, stamp another sentiment from the Kindest Gnomes set. Add a border of Storybook Gnomes DSP along the base. Cut a deeper border to show a little more of the characters.
Thanks for stopping by.
