Today’s tutorial is for a quick Vanilla Ribbon Christmas card. The ribbon is used to frame a Christmas sentiment. If using a different sentiment, simply change the dimensions of the sentiment panel and mat.
Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week, that share different ideas for using this pretty ribbon.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick Vanilla Ribbon Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
Colour Combo
This colour combo mixes Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Metallic Gold.
Quick Vanilla Ribbon Christmas card
Start with an A6 landscape card of Early Espresso. Cut a 5-1/2″ x 3-7/8″ card front layer of Lights Aglow Specialty DSP. Wrap Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon around each edge of the DSP and secure on the reverse. Adhere the ribbon wrapped DSP layer direct to the card front. Cut a panel of Very Vanilla card. Using Early Espresso ink, stamp a sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set onto the panel. Mat onto a panel of Early Espresso card. Pop up on the card front in the centre.
Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
Quick Vanilla Ribbon Christmas card insert
On the Very Vanilla insert, using Early Espresso ink, stamp two more sentiments from the Brightest Glow set. Add a border of Lights Aglow Specialty DSP down the right side of the insert.. Add a skinny strip of Early Espresso card inside it.
