Today’s tutorial is for a coloured Ribbon Christmas card. It is loosely based on this woven strips Christmas card but using ribbon instead of metallic strips.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the coloured Ribbon Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
Colour Combo
This colour combo mixes Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler and Evening Evergreen.
Coloured Ribbon Christmas card
Start with an A6 landscape card of Evening Evergreen. Cut three 8″ pieces of Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon and three 6″ pieces of the same ribbon. Colour one long and one short length of ribbon with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Blend. Use the Dark Evening Evergreen Blend to colour another long and short length of ribbon. (See video). Leave to dry fully.
Cut a 5-1/4″ x 3-5/8″ card front layer of Very Vanilla. Using Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp a sentiment from the Brightest Glow set in the lower right corner (leaving a little extra space in the corner). Add the small Christmas tree from the Christmas Lights set at the right of the sentiment using Evening Evergreen ink. Cut a 5-1/2″ x 3-7/8″ card front layer of Cherry Cobbler card. Adhere the stamped layer direct to the Cherry Cobbler layer. Wrap one each of the short lengths of the Ribbon around the layers and secure on the reverse. Adhere the long lengths of the coloured ribbon to the back of one of the short edges of the card front. Weave the ribbons and secure on the reverse. (See video) Adhere the layers direct to the card front.
Here’s a short video showing first, how to colour the ribbon and then, how to weave it. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
Coloured Ribbon Christmas card insert
On the Very Vanilla insert, using Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp a sentiment from the Merriest Moments set. Add the berries from the same set in the bottom right corner with the same ink. Stamp the holly leaves with Evening Evergreen ink.

Love this card, Sara. My old school colours looking good.
Aww, that’s a brilliant coincidence Lynn! Perhaps an idea for sending as a Christmas card to any school friends you’re still in touch with?
